SEVERAL SMALL GROUPS JOIN US:

Grandparents often come with just their grand kids. Teachers often come with a group of Teachers for an interesting summer vacation. We have had small 4-H groups, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, College groups working on class credits, Family Wedding groups (we have had two weddings on our wagon train since 1969) and even a Family group that was celebrating a 50th Wedding Anniversary together, by wagon train. Fort Seward, Inc. recommends that those parents with infants and younger children be mentally and materially prepared to cope without modern conveniences.

VARIOUS PEOPLE FROM VARIOUS PLACES:

Since 1969 people from all over the United States and foreign countries have participated in the Fort Seward Wagon Train. Both families and individuals are encouraged. Our youngest passenger has been a five-month old baby and our oldest passenger was over 80. There are no restrictions on age, however, Fort Seward, Inc. requires that those under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult. NOTE: Some parents have found it difficult to participate with children under four years of age.

THE WAGON TRAIN STAFF:

The wagon train staff is selected by the board of directors from wagon train regulars. The staff makes the many necessary preparations and fills supervisory positions on the wagon train. Many staff members volunteer and donate their hours of hard work. The Staff members usually wear a same color staff neck scarf during the wagon train to make them easier to pick out. Their leather name tags will also have the word “Staff” or “Teamster” on it.
