  Comment from a participant:
The hardest part was having the wagon train end. We experienced such a closeness with the other participants. Like a special family that worked together. It brought tears to the eyes to have it end.

This covered wagon train family vacation adventure, will start at the historic Fort Seward Park on Sunday, June 29th, 2008 with afternoon registration, supper and evening orientation. The Park is in the NW part of the city on the crest of a grass covered hill overlooking the city. The old fort is gone but some of the cellar areas of the buildings remain. There are sheltered picnic tables there and historic marker. It's address is 1100 5th Street Northwest (look for signs). Click here for a Map of Jamestown, ND.

During the week of the Wagon Train, we'll will be traveling to points of interest, leaving the Jamestown, North Dakota. Daily travel will average around 15 miles, traveling during the week for a total of 75 to 85 miles by covered wagon. We will have several history talks during the week.

Each evening we will have family fun around the campfire. We will all have a chance to share our stories, skits, jokes and sing before retiring to our tents for the evening. Sometimes the landowners, that allow us to use their land, have stories to pass on from the past.

The wagon train trail will take us back to Jamestown, North Dakota to join in their 125th Birthday Celebration and Parade. Come join us!

We will be adding announcements to our News page, as information become available. This will be the 39th Anniversary of the Fort Seward, Inc. wagon train!
